Graphitized Petroleum Coke

2025-06-13

Graphitized Petroleum Coke (GPC) is a high-carbon material produced by subjecting petroleum coke to high-temperature graphitization treatment, resulting in a crystalline structure similar to natural graphite.

Key Features:
1.High Carbon Content (>98%): Extremely pure carbon with low levels of impurities such as sulfur and nitrogen.
2.Graphitized Structure: The high-temperature process aligns carbon atoms into an ordered, layered graphite structure, providing excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, and chemical stability.
3.Low Sulfur & Low Ash Content: Minimizes adverse effects during smelting, making it suitable for high-end casting and metallurgical applications.
4..Excellent Adsorption Properties: Its porous structure ensures fast absorption and high utilization efficiency when used as a carburizing agent.

The benefits of using graphitized petroleum coke as a recarburizer as follows:

1.The graphite carburizer helps reduce costs and improve product quality.
2.The raw material allows for increased use of scrap steel while reducing or eliminating the need for pig iron, effectively avoiding the hereditary impact of pig iron on castings.
3.Low sulfur content ensures stability and reliability, minimizing the adverse effects of sulfur on alloys during spheroidization and inoculation, thereby saving alloy costs.
4.With a low melting point, fast absorption, and no slag backflow, it effectively protects and extends furnace life while reducing lining consumption.
5.High-purity chemical composition: High carbon, low sulfur, minimal nitrogen, and few harmful impurities.
6.Physical characteristics: Clean appearance, free of impurities, porous structure with high porosity, rapid absorption, high absorption rate, and moderate particle size.
7.Microstructure: Superior crystallinity quality, effectively enhancing the grade and performance of cast iron. The product's excellent graphite crystal structure improves the nucleation capability of molten iron, increases graphite nodule count in ductile iron during inoculation, and enhances graphite nucleation in electric furnace molten iron. It refines and homogenizes graphite distribution in castings.
8.Stable product properties: Consistent carburizing effect, excellent absorption, noticeable temperature rise, and no slag backflow.
